Looking for a prop suggestion... Id appreciate any input! I have a 2006 mercury 4 stroke 15 hp. It is on a 14 foot alumacraft flat bottom jon boat. The prop thats on there right now is a 9 1/2 diameter by 9 inch pitch. The boat goes 20-21 mph under a normal load. (me my dad and some gear) 950-1000 lbs. I was wondering if a 9 inch diameter by 10-10 1/2 ich pitch would help? I'm still waiting on my tiny tach to arrive so I'm not sure of the wot rpm yet.I saw a guy post that his 2001 15hp 2 stroke came with a 9x9 and he sained about 4 mph with a 9x10 1/2. Just wondering if the ratio of my engine or it being a newer 4 stroke would make a difference or if I would see the same results as him? he had pretty much the same boat and same load. Thanks in advance and sorry for the novel!

Re: Pitch Suggestion?

I would wait for the tach.

Yeah... I ordered the tach directly from tiny tach by phone (they never charged my card or shipped it) awesome tach I hear, but customer service is terrible. So I just ordered a 9x10.5 and ill see how it does. I can always throw the 9x9 back on. Every once in a while it seems like my motor bounces off the rev limiter so I figure the 300rpm or so it'll drop it can only be a good thing!
