Anyone know of a way to bring them back to life? I have polished, used scotch brite and every metal polish i could find. It still has pits and will not shine.
Just wondering if anyone knows any tricks or should i think about replacements?
I haven't found a trick to it, but there are 3 places here in Florida, that Boathouse Marine has a store'
If it costs $15 at West, they have the same part for $3.99
But they have no web-site.
The temporary fix is to use the inside of the foil liner of a cigarette pack. The flecks of metallic liner will fill the pits for a little while at least.
(Old biker trick)
The permanent fix is sandblast and re-chrome. If they're really pitted chrome won't hold and silver powder coat is about the only reasonable option.
the Jacksonville store is my toy store. 3 minutes from my house. they carry a lot of fittings, but few rails. the Melborne store is a lot bigger. here's there page. remove the quotes copy and paste.
