The anchor mounting holes on the bottom of my molded plastic seats are broken and I cant attach it to the pedestal securely. I see almost identical seats at west marine for a decent price but they dont have the mounting holes where I need them. I'm attaching a pic to help explain. Going to try reinforcement plate (pic 2) but not sure how sure if it will work. Anyone have this problem and figured out a solution?

Drill right through the seat and bolt it down with carriage bolts, you wont even feel the small lumps from the bolt heads, if by some chance your butt is so boney that you do feel them use a cushion.

Fabricate an adapter plate out of wood or aluminum with the holes where you need them for the new seat and old pedestal.

Kind of a last resort as far as looks but a pretty good suggestion. Just need to find a cushion to cover it. Thanx!

Problem with fabricating an adapter plate is I cant secure it to bottom of seat unless I drill down from top like Dan suggested. I appreciate the idea though.
