Where can I find replacement plugs, nylon, for a sun chaser pontoon boat pontoon. I got some from the hardware store but the threads were to fine. Do I need to go to the manufacturer? and how do I do that???

If you can determine the size of the plugs and the type thread, you can likely purchase them online from a place like mcmaster.com .

When you return the no fit plugs to the hardware store take one of the original plugs with you.
the store will have a board with threaded nuts , that way you can determine the correct size
plug. I got aluminum plugs from McMasters as hotTommy says above. old jim

If you go w/ brass or aluminum plugs put some antiseize on the threads and you'll thank yourself later.

If you ended up with fine thread plugs and they didn't work, you bought plugs for a straight thread fitting. Pipe plugs have threads that are more course and the plug itself is tapered. So you likely need a tapered pipe plug which are available at in the plumbing department of any home improvement or hardware store. What happened to the originals?? Take one along if you still have one.

New guy here trying to restore a pontoon boat. I bought new nylon pipe plugs for my boat this morning - $1.56 each at Tractor Supply.

(My boat had 3/8"-16 304 stainless steel screws instead of plugs - and a BUNCH of rubber tape over them! Gotta re-tap them to the original pipe thread and use a lot of sealant...)
