I just bought a 96 nitro with a 75hp force on the back. It looks and feels like this is a plastic propellor on the boat. Right now I can only get the boat going about 35 mph Max and I feel like this is because it's a plastic prop an isn't very large in size. Am I confused or did some of these engines come with plastic props

I know the force 75 has a smaller diameter prop than others. It's prob aluminum. 35 is pretty good

Welcome.
Remember it's only a 75.
Tap on the prop with a metal object.
What rpm's at wot?Should be about 53-5500

If the blades look like they are separate pieces slid into the hub and retained by a collar, you could have a piranha brand composite prop. They only need the blades changed if you damage the prop. Post a pic

Oh, yes! That is a composite prop with replaceable blades--I forget the brand. I have seen them on other Force engines I have bought but could not get them off without destroying them. However, I can not comment on performance because I have never actually used one. The Force 70 and 75 use a 10 inch diameter prop and if you are hell bent on replacing yours, you can use Force props OR Mercury props. Depending upon the size of your Nitro and the load you are carrying (live well, Multiple battery, trolling motor, multiple gas tanks, etc) 35 can be a respectable speed.

I'll try to post s pic but when I knock on it with my knuckles it doesn't feel like it's any sort of aluminum. Iam not sure what my rpms are at WoT. I'll take it out and report back.
