Re: Playoff Picks

End of 3rd qtr and Ravens are beating themselves with penalties and mediocre execution.

EDIT:I guess my prognosticating skills are non-existant. 0/2

Re: Playoff Picks

I'd actually love to see the Saints play Dallas again. If Dallas won the game, they would secure their bragging rights, because they would play our top guys during the "re-run." If they were to lose, we would have the bragging rights, because it would validate what seems to be most of the reason for the "sqeekers" and losses during the latter part of our season - loss of critical players, due to injury.

I actually thought that today's game would be more competative and would not have predicted the rout that occured. Even the 45 - 14 score is deceptive, because the Saints were not really trying to put points on the board during the last 9 minutes of play. Basically, all they were doing was to eat up the clock. I think the game could have easily been 59 - 14.

One other issue that comes to mind, is that this result is exactly why the league needs to stay out of deciding what players are put on the field at any given time. Payton made an obvious and very smart decision to let his top guys heal, so that the team had a reasonable shot at being competitive in the playoffs. As a fan, I will trust his decisions as coach and would a heck of a lot rather see some guys getting SB rings, than to have a 16-0 season. This is especially true, given the fact that we might not have gotten the "perfect season," anyway.

2 correct picks down, 2 to go. I hope today's games are more competitive than yesterday's. Ravens shouldn't have bothered making the trip, but that didn't surprise many people. Even their coach knows they do stupid things to hurt themselves! Cardinals just have no D.

2nd straight year the Ravens made it much further than they should have. Maybe next year they will stop beating themselves with stupid mistakes and WAY too many penalties.

I think the Colts will end up playing the Chargers, and losing. I think the NFC championship will be Dallas and the Saints, with the Saints prevailing.

I'd like to think Dallas will beat the Vikes....but the Cowboys had ALOT of dumb penalties last week and their kicking game is suspect. That can be the difference between winning and losing in the playoffs.
If the Cowboys D can put Brett on the ground HARD a few times in the first quarter, then he may get rattled a bit and throw up a couple of picks.
Hopefully it is a good game. The Saints game was too much of a blowout to be enjoyable.

So I'm frozen to the bone! Put a catch together that barely covered the expenses. That aside, looks like I'm 3 and 0 on my picks and warming up for a Jets game and a nice hot homecooked meal from Mrs Angus. I love this game and this time of year. Fresh baked cod and a warm smiles from the family is all I need now! Enjoy the games...

Experience beats youth in the Vikings win. Of course their's
a great cast backing Brett up but he's having a career year.

Sorry Saint's fans, you don't stand a chance.

Hopefully it will be a better game then the two NFC games
this weekend.

I'm sure glad I don't have my manhood tied up in the success of my favorite team.

The Vikings played too well for the Cowboys today. I give their defensive team credit for the win. They just kept giving the ball back to Favre, so he had to win.

It's an "extension" of our manhood.

If the Vikes can pressure Brees like they did Romo, they have a shot. It was good to see the Vikes play till the end. Too many times they go into the second half with a lead, get conservative and lose(Today was uncharacteristic for them). The whole team had a great game......:D

Vikings' D KILLED Dallas today. Romo never had a chance to get things going, and turned it over way too many times.

Me too!!!!!! If that was the case there would not of been any reproduction in the greater Dallas metro area for well over a decade!!:p;)

I saw today's game a bit different after watching it commercial free for the last hour. I saw a Dallas offense that couldn't put points on the board when the opportunities were at hand, especially in the first half. Play calling and execution stymied the drives. Romo turnovers, missed kicks, poor run and pass blocking made the difference today. Dallas defense did a good job stopping the run, but Favre did well picking away without turning it over.

The Vikes did a good job on both sides applying pressure and playing mistake free.

Next week's NFC game is sure to be fun!!!!! Both teams are playing well and are on the rise! Enjoy...

Wow!!! 9 minutes left in the first half and the Jets have more penalty yards (32) than offensive yards (21). Not a good sign!!!

One more observation...
Take a look at the stature of Sproles compared to the guys trying to take him down. There's some Manhood!!!!! :D
