I recently got a 1980 115hp mercury it ran when I got it. It then wouldnt start but was getting power everywhere. The starter locked up and I got it to work again so there is power to the starter. there is power to the the rectifyer and power going into the switch box but no power from what I can see on a OHMs going out of the switch box. So I changed both boxes that didnt help. So I changed the stator and the trigger aswell have changed the coils and ignition switch. At this point I am frustrated and it still wont start. I have full charged battery just no spark.

SOmeone please help before this motor is at the bottom of the lake.

There should not be power to the switchboxes. They are powered by the Stator, not the battery. I would recommend you run the ADI Ignition troubleshooting test on the CDI Electronics web site.

I am sorry I miss spoke there is a hot wire going into the bottom 4 post on each switch (black and yellow wire.)
when I turn over there is some power to the stator side of switch but none on the coil side. This is with a normal OMS meter. I read somewhere that the black and yellow wire was the kill switch. SO i unhooked and tryed again still no spark .

Yes, Black/yellow wire is ign killer. Time to run the CDI Electronics troubleshooting test.

Any voltage on the blk/yellow wire when disconnected is a bad key switch and will destroy the switchboxes. Measuring with wire attached it should not be over a couple of volts.

not to question a person around longer than I but...

I think the stator has nothing to do with the spark. These are run off the battery. I just ran an older 115 today with the stator disconnected trying to sort out some other problems.
