Ok, I'm starting another thread because people seem to have given up on me on the other one.
I have a 1960 Johnson 10 HP, model QD-21. It was sitting for about 12 years. I got it for free. I replaced spark plugs, lower unit oil, impeller, coils, cleaned and gapped points, and rebuilt carburetor. Still won't start. It has good compression.
I have a nice blue spark that jumps over 1/2 inch. So I was thinking it must be fuel. But even when I remove the carb and spray fuel in directly it still won't start, sounds like it wants too, but won't. The spark plugs are dry when I pull them. Should there be fuel on them? My dad says it has to be timing. If anybody has any clue please help!!! I am ripping my hair out.
