First of hall: Sorry for my bad english

I try to explain the problem in the hope to make it in comprehensible way dates my limited mechanical abilities.

The motor in issue is johnoson a 40 HP year 2000 The found problem is following: the engine runs well, but when I insert the march in order to be left over, the accelerator jams to half. The boat leaves, but the turns of the motor do not exceed the 3000 Acting on the accelerator directly on the motor to crowds, the motor turns well. Initially I had thought to an breakdown in the cable that goes to the motor, for which I have supplied to take apart finding it that all it was ok. Acting on the motor, i noticed that the cable of the accelerator commands (with its movement) not only the opening of the valves of the carburetors, but also “something” that becomes part under what creed is called flies (?) (that is that enormous wheel bite that is looked at as soon as removed the cover of the engine).

IS this connection that seems blocked and prevents to the accelerator to be left over completely.

Issue n°1: what is the funzion of this connection?

Eliminating such connection I succeed to make to advance the accelerator completely, but the engine does not reach the maximum turns.
Restoring this connection the accelerator jams of new to half road.

In any case whichever help and suggestion are very accept

Thanks to all

The part under the flywheel is called the timer base. It is connected to the throttle linkage. When you advance the throttle, it moves the timer base and advances the timing. Apparently, your timer base is sticking for some reason. I would remove the flywheel(enormous wheel) and check it out. The engine will not reach maximum Rpm without the timing advancing fully...

affertus,
welcome to the forum! Let me try to help with the translation...

"insert the march to be left over" is meaningless
"turns of the motor" - use "RPM" (revolutions per minute)
"accelerator" - use "throttle"
"becomes part under what creed is called flies" is meaningless

But you are describing the "flywheel". The part underneath connected to the throttle is the "timer base". It's function is to advance the spark...

You might have an obstuction or fault in the timer base preventing its movement. Or it might not be installed correctly.

It would help to know what maintenance has been performed recently.

buona fortuna!

Very thanks for your great help.

I'm sorry for something meaningless that i wrote :':)'(

I used google translation tool for help, but i think dont work very well.

In any case, i'm very happy for your help in any sense : for the engine and for the correct language

Recently i dont performed any maintenance, but in the last days i have noted that the throttle was difficult to advance at half course.

And this morning was completely blocked. :'(

I will remove the flywheel and check it out

Thanks
I will inform you

Re: Please help : accelerator in Johnson 40 hp 2000

So, I tried to remove the flywheel and check it out, but for the difficulties to unscrew the bolt, I am not successful to remove the flyweel (this morning I did not have the just tools ).

I have tried to force the linkage of timer base and then to lubricate with spray under the flyweel.

In this way i was able to unblock the timer base.
Now it works well.

Question 1: In any case, You thoughts that I must remove the flyweel or not ?

Question 2: Can you describe me how is configured the timer base under the flyweel so i can have an idea of what i will found after flyweel removal ?

Thanks for the councils

If you are sure it's free now, I would not go any further with it. Take her out and See how she runs..You would see some of these parts circled when you remove they flywheel..#111 is what you got unstuck....
