Re: Please Help FICHT or not? 2005 Evinrude 115

how do you figure 12 years old?

plus I didnt say i would buy it...but I see those motors and EVEN FICHT motors going for $5000!!! up here in the northeast.

down in Fla you can't buy a super clean 115hp from the mid 90's for less than $2500!!! and most are going for $3000-$3500.

take a motor TEN years newer and the dealer is asking $5K all day long.

I see desperate E-tech dealers offering motors on CL . they are wanting $9K for the 115 hps.

Again I think the boat uis overpowered....anyone got the spec on the MAX hp for that boat?

an aluminum trailer like that boat has, is worth $1000 all day long....but I still think its a buyers market for boats...the market is flooded with fiberglass boats people cant get rid of

I just sold a 2003 F115 with 365hrs for $3K..it was the best price I could get..I found a 2005 merc 4 stroke 115 the other day for $3000 with low hours and a fresh $2000 repair bill the owner just paid. I am in south ga and the other motor was in FL...I need to bring a truck load of motors up there to you yanks if they going for that much. If it is rated for a 90, a 115 is not really over powered..legally it might be..but the boat will have no problem handling the 115. I see plenty 19' skiffs and sundances wit 115s on them around here.

I found this:
http://hhmarine.biz/f19.html

max engine weight 265 lbs!!

anyone want to take a guess what a 2005 115 weighs??

the factory RECOMENDS 60 hp in 2 stroke configuration.

I realize that for practical purposes a 90 hp and a 115 shouldnt matter,...but if a boat is installed by a dealer over powered...doesnt that send red flags?

I have a hard time thinking that a SUNDANCE dealer put a 115 hp outboard on a boat that the manufaturer they are selling for says MAX is 90 hp, thus putting it at 27% over max hp.......

seems if it had issues warranties would be invalid

A 90 weighs more than 265 LBS..actually the same as a 115...go figure that.

the only 90 hp that weighs near 265lbs, is the yamaha 2 stroke...

yeah the 90 and 115 omcs for the last 15 years have weighed the same....one reason i run a 115 instead of the 90!

Just a side note, the 75, 90, and 115 are the exact same motors with a few minor exceptions regarding EMM settings and injector co-efficients.

AND if anyone out there has a boat that's "over powered" with a 115, I will trade you my 75, minus the engine cowling. (cover)
