Please help ID my motor year

I just bought a boat with a very lightly used 8 HP Mercury Outboard that I believe to be a mid-80's model. The serial number is 0B120974.

I couldn't find the year. But yours falls into 0A197112 - 0D280999 (USA) serial no. break.
