Re: Please help. Ignition question

The switch itself should only have six terminals whether or not it is Force or mercury ignition. a standard push to choke six terminal switch should swap right in.

There were only about 5 keys for the original switch so if you can find a number on it you can order a key. If you bring the switch to your Mercury dealer, they may have keys on hand to test fit--hey worth a try to ask.

If you haven't mess it up yet, you can just order all sets of keys and it will still cost you less than a new set of ignition switch. I forgot how much the key cost but they are dirt cheap. Or even better if you remember the number stamped on the key you lost, it makes it even easier.

10 wires??? Some are for ignition, some for the trim/tilt.another for the power to the dash/ignition.
You should have a wiring chart on the motor somewhere?
Blue/green is for trim.brown is for the t/t sender?
