Please help me Identify my motor. V4 140hp

I have searched and searched on this forum on where to find the model number of a motor but I still can't find it.

The transom plate is missing, and I cannot find the freeze plug. Can someone please point out to where to look according to these photo's? Thanks!!!

i will bet if you look where the red arrow is, you will find numbers on the plug. ezeke beat me, i was marking picture.

I took a look in and around that plug, nothing there.

On the block I found a #328628, and on the cylinder covers I got #328624-4 and #328624-3.

I looked over every inch of the motor and I STILL can't find it. Either I'm blind, its missing, or I'm still missing it.

I looked for something that tashasdaddy posted, but no luck.

slawek..i think the plug itself is missing....that pic of that hole is where the freeze plug is on my 94 v4 140

I have a 1988 140HP Looper that is the same powerhead as the one in your picture. The plug is where I indicated, as it is on my 225 1990 Looper. Yours welch plug is missing.

Your best bet is the cover decals, which will match the decal covers of other Evinrude models for that year unless it is a special design. You can try to match part numbers yourself:

It's a small bore V4 looper. Either a 120 or 140 hp. 1985 to 1987. Are there any deacals on or around the airbox about the timing?
