Happy Easter my fellow boaters. Please see the pics below. You will see a small black tube running vertically up the stern. The faster I go, the more water comes out of this rubber tube.

By feel, I though I tracked it exiting the boat out the back in the bell housing somewhere above the coupler.

What is it? Why is it just cut off there? I looks to belong but I am just stumped. Thanks in advance.

looks like a line for a speedometer. Do you have a speedo?

Jason,
I do but it is the white plastic one mounted on the bottom of the transom. It wasnt working last year and I replaced the gauge. I tested the accuracy of the plastic one as well via air pressure.

Is it safe to assume this tube and water is from the speedo in the lower unit? I had the outdrive replaced last year and the tech probably hooked it back up. Although I have to wonder why it was ever cut in the first place......

Thanks for the reply, Jason and have a great day.

use your air compressor and give it a shot to see where it comes out?

looks like about the right size to be the speedo tube.

If the speedo is hooked up to a pitot or working by another source i would just plug that hose.
