I have a 1990 233 XL Ambassador. I have a 5.7 Mercruiser, sterndrive.
I'm looking for the engine ser. numbers.
I was told by Merc, that it is located by the starter, it's a metal black & silver tag. I looked and looked, no luck. I was able to locate a White paper tag stuck to the oil pan near the starter. The tag measures approx 2 1/2" x 4" and reads like this:
In the center, very large letters 5 ML, beneath it is a large bar code, such as the one you see on packages.
Along the right side going vertical ML 933445616,
Along the bottom it reads, 105ML M504210055.
I appreciate any input or direction.
Thank you,
John
