Hello all, All grounds appear to be clean and tight. I have replaced the starter brushes and battery connectors. I can see the starter bendix ticking when I turn the key over. I have to bump it a few times to get it to engage. Is a seliniod either good or bad ?. Or should I spend the $40+ on a non returnable ignition switch. I dont have anyone to help me test plus I really dont know where to start. Robert

Great advice, You are talking about the main harness plug?. That could be the problem w/ my out trim also as I tried every thing else. I will do that this evening Thanks Robert

yes the main plug that hooks the motor to the boat.i used emery cloth rolled up to clean the female side.im not sure if the trim runs into that plug.they have a solnoids also again it could just be a ground for it also i know when i got my boat it has sit for a yr and a half and i had to clean every ground on it to make it all work right.it very well could be your switch but it deff wont hurt to get some good connections.and it will deff make it more sea worthy.

I think I have narrowed it down to the neutral starting switch. When I turn over the key and it just clicks I can jiggle the control handle and the starter engages. If this switch is no longer available can I bypass it. Robert
