the numbers on the block are 366855 GM 2 its a straight 6 but i need to know what year so i can buy parts please help here are some photos its leaking oil like made when the pedal is to the metal

some will be along with a book and get your the correct info. They made that engine for many years. I think you will be safe in telling the parts people its from the 70's what year boat?
They are great engines. will work hard for years and years. They really dont like wide open operation. I would run it at 3000 rpm. where is it leaking? If it is not leaking at 3000 forget it.

its a 1975 seaswirl but did this motor come from a nova Bel air or what?? i think it needs a new oil pan gasket and maybe a timing chain cover gasket but where and how do i get the parts?? its not alittle oil its alot

Yes that kit will work. The reason for the oil leak at high RPM is pressure building in crank case, most likely from piston blow by. Good news is won't cost as much as some to rebuild. Another thing that will help is to mount the PVC tube into the bottom of the air cleaner base. Look at picture 3 the black hose coming from the top of the valve cover to the air cleaner/spark arrester is only setting up against the cleaner. Its not getting full suction to vent out the pressure.

ive been taking the boat out and it seem to have alot of power its just leaking alot of oil up towards the front of the motor like small little drips but higher the rpms the the more oil but the motor runs great also can i take off the front motor mounts off will it stay in plase so i can change the timing cover gasket

You will need to support the engine from above. Think I would run a compression test before I did anything. You may have to take engine out to do pan gasket. Might as well clean up engine, compartment, wiring. check bearings etc. If you do take mount off check the pulleys and replace if pitted, replace belt and add a spare belt behind the mount with a tie wrap.
