Please help with hubs

To make a long story short, I'm moving to VA from AR. I went to repack my bearings on my trailer. I've got a 17' G3 with a Force 40 on a "Lil Hauler" trailer.

After inspection, one of my hubs needs to be replaced. It's 1 1/16 axle 5 on 4.5. No problem right? I go to the local parts store and pick up a hub. However, the new hub is too deep. If you take the old hub, and put it on the ground, with the stud holes pointing up, it's only 3.75" tall. However, the new hub is over 4".

What kind of goofy hubs have I got? Where can I get a replacement?

By the way there is a number on the back of the hub. 3T150A 0R 8T150A

It looks identical to http://www.easternmarine.com/1-1/16-Bearing-5-on-45-Bolt-Wheel-Hub-Kit-81075/
but that one says it measures 4.06 in hub length. Mine is about 3 13/16"s

Call or look-up Pacifictrailers ....... Ask for parts and describe. You'll find an answer.

Re: Please help with hubs

My trailer had weird hubs and spindles. The guy at the RV shop that helped me out said "never seen one like that before". We were able to get the right bearings but couldn't locate a proper seal. I said screw it and got a whole new complete axle from Tractor Supply for $120. Worth ever penny and no more weird setup. Not saying you should do that right now but if you run into a bunch of trouble, it's an option. Only took my like an hour to swap the whole thing out.

What's wrong with the hub?

A bearing had gone out on this hub before, and it chewed the inner and outer surfaces of the hub up. I can not get a seal to stay on the back and can't get a bearing buddy/dustcap to stay in the front.

But other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? :p:D
