I have another thread related to this issue, but I think I have narrowed that problem down to a weak spark so I wanted to make a thread specific to that.
The problem is I can only get the spark to jump a very small gap. Probably about 1/8". I did DVA the stator and timer base. Stator was supposed to read 950-1100 ohms and 150v. I got 850 ohms and around 140 volts. I know the resistance is low but the volts are pretty close so I figured the stator was good.
The timer base was all where it was supposed to be.
Then the orange wires going to the coils were very low. They are supposed to be around 150v. On those I got about 3v. So I figured the power packs were bad. So today I tried a new pack and same results. Still very weak spark and still only about 3v to the primary wires. I tried with stop wires connected and disconnected.
What am I missing here? Please help I am running out of ideas.
