Sometime in the dim past I saw a sign in a neighborhood that said, "DEAR CROSSING", with stick figures of kids.

quite a few years back, the local DOT, put up a sign about 100' from my driveway....."slow children playing". well, the wife wasnt long getting on the phone telling some poor person that " sure the kids arent gunna be rocket scientists, and she felt that the sign was offensive and wanted it removed!"

They put that sign up at on the road (dirt road out to a peninsula) to our cottage. My brother and I used to play on that road all the time and always laughed that the DOT considered us "challenged."

I agree it is hard, but it does feel real. She sounds a little too smart for the light not to have gone on, but I can see how she just had enough of a disconnect to not completely get it. I am betting she is blonde, I have flown some pretty stupid stuff by the ones I know Fliipin' hilarious though
