Hey guys,

I would like for you to take a look at this video about Hurrican Ivan. Some of the 911 calls you will here are from Grand Lagoon. I think 29 people died in Grand Lagoon when their homes were flooded or destroyed. Many of you may ask why they didn't evacuate; well, no one thought it would be this bad. We have all been through hurricanes and nothing like this has happened since Camille hit Mississippi in 1969. The day after the storm I kept new reports of missing people and bodies being found in Grand Lagoon, and two days later I was in Grand Lagoon as I was a driver for an investigator with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The destruction that I saw (and have lots of pictures of) was jaw dropping and utterly stupefying.

Hurricane Ivan Video

Yup... :(

Storm surge kills more people than any of the other hurricane forces.. FACT!...

If you're in a low area and a storm's comming, GET THE HELL OUT, no matter what the weather forecast says...

Spending a few hours, or even a few days at a shelter, or a hotel, or with frends or family, has to be better than drowning...

Season's commin' too... yuck..

Still alot of obvious damage around here too...

We've been counting our lucky stars for over 20 years that the Texas Gulf Coast dosen't get with a big one again. We're overdue.

Saw a history story about the hurricane that hit Galveston in the early 1900's. Afterwards, they raised the island 15 feet. The storm surge washed in at 4 feet per second.
