Please tell me this hole is supposed to be there.......

79 Erude 25 shortshaft elec start. Just noticed some black oil leaking out of my lower unit. I had never noticed it before, but there is a small hole, 1/8 to 1/4 inch around, even with he bottom of the upper LU lube screw and about an inch and a half behind it toward the rear of the housing. This is where the leak is. Please tell me it's supposed to be there. What is it for?

That's a water drain to avoid freezing and cracking the unit in the northern areas of the world.

Thanks Joe....my heart can slow down now. Don't know why I didn't notice it when I changed the LU lube. Probably wouldn't have noticed it yet if not for the black oil seeping out. Guess the Seafoam in tha gas tank is doing it's job. Thanks again.
