It fell off when I took the foot off of the upper... it's a mercury alpha 2 I/o. I can't find it in the exploded view diagram for either the upper or the foot.

Or did it fall out when I took the shift lever out? I can't remember, but I do remember that it fell out when I was taking the outdrive apart for routine inspection/maintenance.

Scratch my idea. No clue now. Been a long time since I've been in one. Is it broken off on the left end? Looks worn and broken there. Some of the other guys can probably help more than me.
