I was decided on Lexan, but I spoke with someone yesterday who said to use plexiglass. I'm confused! These are for the forward cuddy windows of a Grady WA (and they have a slight curve). Also, a 2 x 4 sheet of Lexan (McMaster Carr calls it polycarbonate) runs about $60, the same sheet "Abrasion Resistant" is $130. Oh ya, I'm going with the bronze tint versus the gray. I'm about to order this, stop me if I'm wrong....

Tanks

i replace the broken left windshield on my ski boat with lexan. it was a breeze to do. it cuts really well with a fine metal cutting sabre saw blade. tape craft paper over frame maket the inside, made allowance for the gasket. slipped it in the bottom curved frame, and vertical frame of the walk thru. and the worked the rest of the frame on. it's easier with 2 people.

Hmm, cracking would be my immediate concern...

Also, what type of caulking will hold these to the frames best? They're slightly curved so I'm going to clamp them into the frames for a few days before bedding the frames. Was thinking 4200??

Thanks,

The advantage with plexiglass is scratch resistance. Lexan is far easier to work with and is more resistance to breaking. It's just a matter of picking the priority.
