Every time I take the hood off my 1996 Johnson 88spl, the rear latches catch on the two lower cylinder spark plug wires. When I put the hood back on, it tends to pinch the wires. By now the wires are pretty beat up and I am replacing them.

Does somebody have a wire routing diagram? I see a couple of wire retainer clips, but not enough to get the wires out of the way. Is it ok to bundle a couple of plug wires together under one retainer clip? Is this a common problem?

Model number is J88TSLEDR. Thanks

There are two typed of wire holders (clips) , as shown in Ezeke's picture. 330151 and 310436. They are a must to keep the wires from getting tangled in the cowl latches or possibly shorting to ground.
