plug wiring on 79 mercury 115hp

[h=1]Spark plug wires are crossed on 79 mercury outboard 115hp thunderbolt ignition. what is that correct order?[/h]

A 1979 115 will have an ADI ignition system and not have a distributor. It will have 6 coils stacked on the starboard side and the coils like the cylinders go top to bottom.

Firing order on it and also on a distributor model is 153624

Firing order listed on mine is listed different. motor 1-4-5-2-3-6. coils in straight line labeled as 123 123 bottom up. would they be 1-6 top down? number 3 line will not reach the 5th plug

You have six coils stacked vertically and six cylinders stacked vertically. top coil should go to the top cylinder, the next coil down goes to second from top, 3rd goes to 3rd 4 goes to four, etc etc. At least that's the way it came from the factory. however if someone rewired the switchbox wires wrong or put the wrong wires on the coils(they are numbered by tags) or moved the coils around, all bets are off
