Plugs fouled with gas and oil

I have a 2003 Mercury 90hp. I have owned it 2 years now with absolutely no problems. The other day while at low forward moving idle the motor started to miss like crazy and died. I tried like crazy to restart and nothing. Even tried a tad bit of starting fluid. When I got home I figured it was the spark plugs. When I removed them they were soaked in gas and oil. So I replaced them with the same ones that were in it. NGK BUHW-2.

I ran the motor on muffs and there were not any issues. So I went fishing again the next morning. Motor started and run perfectly. Later in the day once again at low idle moving forward through a no wake zone it did it again.

The results were the same excess gas and oil on the plugs when I pulled them.

I saw a post on here that mentioned that the tilt of the motor could explain why the oil and gas end up fouling the plugs.

Any takes on this? Not sure what it could be.

How long had the engine been running at Idle, before it died? Did it start loading up and running rough. or did it just quit? What rpm is the engine Idling at?
You aren't adding oil to the gas are you?

If a 2 stroke then do a compression test.-----Is oil injection in service ?-----Is thermostat in place ?----Perhaps check fuel pump diaphragm.

I ended up having a small air leak on fuel line near primer bulb and I also did a decarbination on the motor. Runs quite a bit better! Did compression test before the decarb all three cylinders read 110 psi, after they all read about 115psi.

Also noticed some melted but connectors and wire near voltage regulator, so ordered a new voltage regulator.

I still have to use primer bulb if I shut it off and fish for a bit I would suppose that is fairly normal. Oil injection is present and working ok I believe. I haven't checked the diaphragm yet but will look at it tomorrow. I replaced water pump last year and thermostat looked ok to me but not sure.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back just have been working a bunch.

Need to check stator as if voltage is low will result in a weak spark at plugs. Capacitor only stores what it gets. If the rect/reg is bad it could have caused the stator to overheat resulting in sudden miss and shutdown.
