I like the contact cement idea. Use the "flammable" type. It works better than the "non" flammable type.

Re: Plywood for flooring?

Thanks everyone for the ideas. Here's what I've done. I used 1/2" treated ply for the flooring and 3/4" treated for the deck. I didn't water proof it, paint it or varnish it. Had an older gentleman tell me not to cause the treated ply has to dry and if you seal it up it won't have a chance to and possible it will rot from the inside out. I don't know. Wired it for a bow or transom mount trolling motor, wired front and rear lights. Also wired it for courtesty light by the front deck. And installed a door on the front side of the deck for storage. Had it out today for the maiden voyage..........WORKED GREAT. I like it alot. So here again.........Thanks everyone for the info. If only I knew how to install pictures, I'd show some of it. But I can't figure it out.

By the way. I did put some foam tape between the aluminum floor and the ply wood. It's what is user for between the main floor and steel outriggers on a motor home. It'll keep the corrosion from happening.

Glad to hear you are happy with what you have accomplished, Bearcamp. Half the fun now is to think of what you can do next. Good luck.

Re: Plywood for flooring?

I was in a hurry to fix the floor in my boat cheap and used 5/8 cdx fixed with 'rustproof' deck screws. The 5/8 had the most plys[7 i think]1/2 woulda been rotted by now. The original 1/2 had glass mat on both sides and lasted 30 yrs. Been in there 5 yrs uncovered outside. Starting to feel a little softer but definitely not rotted.
