Does anyone know the plastic piece that sits between part numbers 126026 and 126025, it's a piece with grooving that holds the cable from it moving so motor can go into gear

It's just the middle piece that has two grooves to hold the steering cable so it don't slide when I engage into gear, it sits behind the anchor pn126025

Without a parts listing, those numbers mean nothing. What motor do you have? Year? Model number?

Don't know the model number it's at the shop waiting to get picked up tomorrow since I denied him to buying a new gear box

If I miss my guess, the only thing between your part #s is the anchor that holds the cable sheath, that is part of the cable itself. You need a new cable. JMO

Look up your control box at shop2.evinrude.com under the Accessories listings. Should have blow up diagrams and part numbers.
