Interesting, Mrs.Link saves them. She rolls them by state. Has a little over a thousand dollars at the last count.<br />Me I have a wine jug thats holds between 4 and 5 hundred when full. It pays for my hunting/fishing lic and two trips camping each year.<br /><br />In 1984 I wrote (not mrs.link) back then, from Korea and told her I was going to be in Hawaii on such and such dates and she was welcome to join me. She paid for the entire trip from her saved .50 pieces.

Speaking of spare change....<br /><br />My wife's cousin's house they were renting burned down last week with everything in it. They have 2 young kids, and are living with their grandparents right now until they get back on their feet, still waiting for renters insurance and all to kick in, so everyone has been collecting what essentials they can. I pass the info to my boss cause his kids are about the same clothing size.<br /><br />He walks in and hands me a coffee can full of cash that he had in his drawer and said, "give this to them, only on the condition it is anyonymous"<br /><br />Had to be over $150 in there.

I woulda thought the copper plated zinc pennnies cost more than a penny to make and distribute. <br />If not, that makes me feel even more ripped off when I go to the hardware store to buy washers etc.

the container that i use will hold 900 bucks in quarters <br /><br /><br />and with the nickels, dimes and pennies i use to buy my brekfast with every now and then!!!! i'm sure the waitress appreciates all that change!!!

Breakrfast and lunch money...one day all there was, was pennys and nickles so my ten year old said forget it! : I'll use my own money". talk about pride...

I used to keep change in an old glass 5 gallom water bottle. Filled it 3 times and cashed it each time: $625, $575, and $875 the last time. The bottle broke 2/3 full a few weeks ago, another $420 saved this time...<br /><br />Took a long time to fill,even when trying to break bills every day!

I used to save all my pocket change and that was how I paid my motorcycle insurance. I quit a year and a half ago when I caught my oldest stealing money from it. He denied it, I set a trap and he tripped it, so ever since I spend every penny.

A 16-oz Coors Light can holds $8-$9 dollars in pennies. <br /><br />I don't travel tollroads too often, so I don't have EasyPass (the transponder automatic toll payment device, affectionaltely known here in New Jersey as "SleazyPass"). I keep a plastic soup container in the cars with assorted silver coin in it, between $20 to $40. <br /><br />The rest gets rolled up every 3-4 months, generating from $70 to $120. <br /><br />I sort out my coins as I go along. I have individual beer cans for each coin on my dresser, and at the end of the day it takes about a minute to sort out the change.

Wow KilroyJC! I have never heard of a bear can used to measure money... however I do know people that use beer as a standard of measurement when they travel.... you know it's about 3 neers to the lake and about a sixpack to the city!

your killing me here aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,,,a box of quarters weighs aprox 26lb for $500 most banks ship $1000 bags out ,, not just one bag but several bags,, some times 15 20 30 bags ,, thats one bank ,, some times i go to 45 banks on a special run,, i deliver 100 boxes of quarters and dimes,,nickels pennies to replace the bags i pick up,,,,were talking several several thousand lbs in and out SO spend your loose change or traide it in at the local store for paper money and take that to the bank,,a million in 20s is only about 75lbs or 3 boxes of quarters and save my back thanks
