Polar aluminums are considered quality boats. Evaluating alum johns is fairly easy as you can see every joint, rib, weld, etc. Be aware of hull gauge as they are different even within some manufacturers. Heavy duty models tougher but heavier. There are also different grades of aluminum, some of the better boats use aircraft grade or T alloys. Also different widths in same lengths. Narrow johns are less stable.<br />As you shop for alum johns you will quickly notice the quality from the crap. Price is also a good indicator if buying new. Consider less common brands such as wrangler, xpress, war eagle, legend, if looking for tough alum. All have web sites.
