Re: Police Officer killed

Read this thread a few times before and after the edits (justly deserved) as I thought about this I decided to add my thoughts.

My sister was the first women Deputy Sheriff in the state she is in, now retired. My BIL is retired Hwy patrolmen, nephew Hwy patrolmen.

BIL heads a group of retired and active officers and civics who erect monuments to officers killed in the line of duty (in the state the reside in).

Many of the officers he knows but many of the younger ones he doesn't. I have been at their place when they were holding a roadside memorial, they do this when it is erected. My BIL never knew this officer; but, the emotion and tears were very real!

My point is this; police officers are a family, what they have/are going through binds them together. Yes some are jerks, to us and to them, they are also dependent on those jerks to back them up when needed as well as back the jerks up.

Any fallen officer is a loss to them all. KB is no exception and the loss of his friend is a community loss. We who have never served may not feel/understand. But, the loss is real to them. I've seen it and would say to KB; be strengthened by the support of the many here and ignore the detractors.
