Finally had a day off and some nice weather. Went to Fleet Farm and bought a variable speed buffer and a polishing pad. Used Blue Magic Aluminum Polish (good stuff!) and went to town. Started at about 8:30am and finished about about 1pm with a few sammich breaks in between.

Here are the before and after pics.

Few things nicer than polished aluminum, we have done a couple show boats over the years and they always look so cool, for a while anyhow.

Now if it was just a Bennington.....

Kidding of coarse, very nice!

Looks good. There are some products out there that will preserve that shine so it lasts all season.

That's good to know, otherwize I would have considered beermunk's labor to be an excercize in futility. Would just take a couple of months for them to revert to their previous appearance.

Not an endorsement..... but I have heard of "sharkhide aluminum hull protectant" and some people here have used it.

nice job!! the blue magic is fantastic used it on my semi
Alcoa makes a spray on sealer, after you get them polished the way you want, wipe the black residue off and do it again to get the part you missed, then spray the sealer on
you can also use the blue magic on the fiberglass, then put on a coat of wax of your choice.

Looks good. Very good.
Won't just regular old wax keep 'em shiny for a while?
