I spent the last two days around the Sandusky area it was great. It is 200miles for me and would gladly make the trip.

If adequate attendence is assured, I will drive or fly in (unless it ends up being in middle of nowhere northern michigan).

Would Isle Royale national park be a convenient location for ya?:p

Hint...it's closer to Dozer and Sprint than Pennsylvania:D

We'd love to attend anything in the Western Lake Erie region. We cast our vote for Sandusky. Please let everyone know the dates that are being considered.

I hate to see this thing die but hate beating drums nobody hears. For selfish reasons and locality I chose Sandusky. However, after reading this again I think we need to do this and should give it a run in Lake Wawasee. I like the Nostalgia of the birthplace being so close. I have 3 weeks vacation in August and run to Drummond Island every year. I'm heading to Wawasee on anyone of those weekends someone wants to hook up. Heck, I'm going with or without you guys just to see the plant.....possibly buy a hat and get the starjet's picture infront of the joint for my scrapbook. I'll buy the first round for anyone who shows up.

Money and Time

Two controlling factors that play into most everyone's ability to make an event happen.

Money:

Was out of work for a long time, back to work at 1/3 my normal rate of pay

Lack of Money means spending priority, means the tinnie takes a back seat

Time:

Used up to make Money

Used on other family priorities, and appropriately so.

As cool as it could be to have a group get-together, each member would require, AT THE SAME TIME, the following:

The ability to schedule paid time off at the same time
The ability to afford to allocate money toward a vacation
No other time commits
The money to complete their boat as desired, which takes Time and Money

that is why this Forum exists, as a consolation prize.

Hope everyone wins their State Lottery, then we would all show up with brand new SFM190's and compare colors, options, and engine choices..................lol

Mine would be a Ranger Reata 21??

I seriously think the only thing keeping a Michigan gathering from happening is the fact the majority of us Michiganders are right smack in the middle of full on resto's. No one in lower Michigan is more than 3-5 hours max. from each other making a weekend gathering quite possible I would think, but not this year. My .02 again....

This statement is so very true.

I did want to attend the last event. But it looked like it went bust. Money and time seem to be the factor for a Sandusky Ohio trip. For me it is 1000 miles of travel, 14 mpg @ 3.75 per gallon of fuel. 71.5 gallons usage = 267.85
Plus fuel used by boat = 100.00 for a 3 day stay.
Camping = 20.00 to 25.00 a night = 75.00
Hotels = The sky is the limit there.
Food = 150.00 to ??????????
Bait/any forgotten tackle = 25.00 to ?????????

517.00 total just for the above listed. And would be a minimum amount for a 2 person trip for us any way.

One day travel to the event. One day travel back home + 3 days @ the event. 5 days in total. Lost wages if a person doesn't have vacation pay.???????? Seems more and more folks are in this type of Boat. No pun intended, well sort of. Not to be a kill joy, but like it has been said, there are factors to be thought of for a person/Family to be able to do some thing like this. I took notice that there are no Other Great Lakes areas to be considered. Maybe Lake Erie Sturgeon Point NY. Or Lake Ontario Webster NY. Just a thought. My hope on these type of events is that they go off gr8 and with out any problems.-------------------------- Is there a date set for this?-------------- How many days is the event?
