I used to love my 63 18hp but it was right loud, I guess, compared to newer motors. ran my 13' whaler.
the late sixties/early 70's 55's were good. Ran them on 16' starcrafts--flat water and in the bay. but I recall there was a few years where the head gasket didn't play well with salt water? I was a teen and not paying attention much back then.
I'm on my second 1986-88 70, on a 17'. great for flounder fishing and general use. does well at trolling speed.
I've pretty much sold out to Yamaha now but I have a great fondness for the old OMC's I grew up with.
