Re: Pondering next project...aluminum pilot house boat...opinions and advice?
Well, down here in South Carolina after having a water pump installed and all fluids changed in the high mileage duramax.
There are literally a few thousand dollars worth of uninstalled new electronics, GPS's, stereo, fish finder, siren, boxes of accessories, a fighting chair, batteries, inverter, etc, etc. In the boat.
2000 200hp Suzuki 2 stroke, hydraulic jack plate, 9.9 kicker. 2007 aluminum trailer. The whole boat has been painted, topsides too.
It's a pretty wet boat. The floors "look" good but they're shot. Transom...probably has a few years left.
I'd say a good complete tear out is due soon for my standards.
$12,500. Gonna pull the trigger tomorrow. I don't want to finance a $30k pilot house then worry about leaving it in a wet slip most of the year(winter too)
Nothing scares me now. I'm an electrician/electronics tech by trade so I'm looking forward to a cool project.
Any thoughts?
