Nope. A properly functioning 115 on a 24 footer, even with only two toons (not logs; sorry, pet peeve:redface:), should be good for thirty given ideal conditions and upper twenties in any conditions. Something's not right.

So I got a new prop, it might go a wee little bit faster, it accels a little quicker, but it runs about thousand rpms less and still same speed.

I am not a prop expert by any means, but I would guess that the old prop was spun and also too steep of a pitch. That might be part of why it spun.

Have you checked for water in toons? There should be access ports or caps on top of each sections. Open them then drop one end of a lenght of rope on wich you previously tied something like a bolt until you hit the bottom. Put it up and check if the rope is wet.

This is what I suspect!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

A nonfactory coating on the hull of a aluminum boat or on toons is usually a good indicator that the previous owner was having leakage problems.

I've even heard of people trying to seal their boats with roofing tar and Cool-Seal.

I have a 22' Sweetwater witha 60hp Yamaha and I get 21mph at WOT on my GPS. Incoop is correct, you should be getting a lot more speed than what you are getting.
Check Pontoons for water.

Maybe check your speed with a GPS?...speedo could be off. Seems the prop that allows for 6000RPM's should be closer to correct than the 5000RPM prop. It's important for these motors to run upwards of their maximum RPM's, and not be "lugging motor".
