Pontoon floor covering, carpet vs vinyl

Looking at new toons, 22-24 ft. Most have carpet, but vinyl is an option. Was wondering if any of you had some long-term experience with the vinyl. Carpet looks nice but in many of the used boats I've seen the wear patterns, spots, etc. are obvious, and I KNOW it is a major project to lay new carpet. Primary use will be cruising, fishing, partying with food and beverages. Don't anticipate any water sports, no pets, rarely children.

Have had 5 glass fish boats previously, all hose-and-go. Questions: is it hotter than carpet? Non-skid as carpet?
As easily cleaned as glass deck? Hold up to wear and fading vs carpet?

Any other considerations?

Thanks!!!

Many of the manufacturers are now offering vinyl w/ snap in carpet. Best of both worlds. Good luck !!!
