I just put down new decking yesterday and am due to do the carpet today. I thought about maybe using some roofing felt on it before putting the carpet down. What do ya'll think? Will it help, hurt or make no difference? Thnx!

I don't think its needed at all....the wood is going to get wet. Either from underneath or eventually with friction the carpet will wear the felt out. Plus if water gets under the felt it could make it that much harder for the wood to air dry. I would just put the carpet down and either glue or staple it. Good luck and have fun!

I agree with SAMM835. I would worry about the deck being able to breath and release moisture.

Thnx ya'll, for the quick response! I thought the same way but I really wasn't sure. It's carpeting on there in just a few!
