pontoon speed

i have a 20' pontoon with a 70hp mercury 2 stroke, around what should be the speed i havent put the motor on so i havent even been on the water yet i just wanted an idea.

Lots of variables, but an educated guess with only you on board would be about 20 mph.

What is the toon diameter? That has alot to do with speed.

i have a 18' with a 50 & get 20-22,id reckon you will get 22-26 & hopefully on the upper side, yours will like gas more than mine being bigger so a lot depends on how much $ you want to spend ,have fun as this is the season to use them,mike243

I have a 2010 Suntracker 24' I don't have a speed guage so I'm going off my Hummingbird GPS.

I have a 115 HP Mercury.

I can only get 25mph.

I have a lighter 20' with smaller toons and a 70hp and i got about 22mph empty. I recently added a 3rd pontoon with and integrated transom and hit 27mph now.

I have a 20ft with the larger logs being pushed by a 75 mariner. 26 mph.
