Re: Pontoon Trailers

Blujay96 has a great idea, I am thinking of adding the plastic strips to the front bunks on my trailer to aid loading and unloading, the ramps I have to use are a shallow angle. Brian Mc has a good point about the small fat tires, remember those tires use a higher air pressure than car tires and most of the problems with those tires are people trying to use them at 35PSI instead of 50PSI that is required. Take care of those wheel bearings, the smaller tires are moving a over twice the speed of your tow vehicle tires.

The 205/65-10 (20.5X8.00-10) Load Range E tire is a 10 ply rated at 1650 lbs per tire at 90 lbs of pressure. I've been running around 65 lbs in mine, and they've been running cool. The bearings have been running cool once they got seated in. They are 3500 lb axles,so I have plenty of bearing and tire under it. They seem like they'd be humming, but are holding up well. Just keep them greased, and check them on a jack once and a while.
