Re: Poppet Carrier fell in block

I think I have the 190 temp sensors, they look like the ones in the manual. Today I went out and did decarb, and a little fishing, boat runs real well and idles well in neutral, but almost stalls in FWD. I guess I need to adjust idle speed. I also think I have way too much prop. Everything seems to run well, but I can't get much above 5100 RPMs. Any suggestions?

The prop is a Quicksilver Stainless, and has a bunch of numbers then 25P stamped on it. Reckon this is too much? 18 Procraft Super180

Water temps vs Metal temps...

You need to find out what the sensor is measuring!!

And I would check spark on all the cylinders.... One cylinder not firing could cause a loss of 500+ rpms at WOT...

I do have spark on all cylinders, checked with timing light yesterday. however, I do have plugs on order and will see if that helps. Did decarb as iboats prescribes today. How would i determine which temps I am measuring, remove the sensor?

Is your temp sensor screwed into the block or held in place with Y shape keeper and one 1/2" head bolt? If it is screwed into the block/water jacket you are measuring water temperature, not metal. My sensor touches the head/metal. So it measures metal temp.
Thermostats should open at 143 degrees. Overheat sensor should go off at about 240 degrees.
