Just got done doing comp check and setting timing to spec 24 degrees at 4000 rpm now at full throttle its popping have to back out 3/4 throttle to get it to stop runs fine there any suggestions?

4.3 vortec no timingarks on balancer or shunt for dist but had snap on timing light with dial so set it at 24 dont remember idle but it was advancing had to rebuild water impeller and some other stuff some dont remember but the guy helping did get shocked from spark pluh wires at dist so thinking that just got off lake hetting frustrated
