Gettin ready to strip the bottom of my 14 Starcraft. Painting the top stripe, but gonna leave the bottom aluminum.

In your guys "professional" opinion (lol), which would you guys suggest, I cant decide. The POR 15 would be the clear, not the black.........

Ive seen some experiences here with sharkhyde, but not the por15. Ive personally seen it sprayed on a friends bumper, turned out great, but did not get to see the long haul longevity of it........

Willy the only thing I know about POR 15 is the black frame paint so I cant help with it but Bob VT did recomend the Sharkhyde to me on my Jupiter V 16' Starcraft if I decided to leave the lower hull bare aluminum . I decided to paint anyways so thats where I ended up.

Heres a few links to the por15

Cost wise, they look to be pretty close. I know the por15 is some pretty tuff stuff, but I have only seen it on a buddies bumper. It was pretty scratch resistant. Really hard to dig a fingernail into. Definattely harder than a regular paint. What about sharkhyde? Ive been to the website, just lookin for someone who has used the stuff.

yhea, I have done the search...

No doubt Por are great products but you would have to use the metal prep too..... I would also ask how it does in flexing situations such as an aluminum hull.

Re: POR15or Sharkhyde

In their demos they show it on a thin strip of metal that is being bent and twisted with no cracking.

I'm going to use it on my trailer with their white top coat as Por15 itself will chauk with uv exposure.

No cracks while bending, at least thats what their website says. You have a link to the vid? I cant find it. They also sell a clearcoat to go over their paint, which is what I was going to use along with their prep..... But I am kinda leanin towards sharkhyde.

Re: POR15or Sharkhyde

I know a number of people already using POR15 and along with some of the durability statements makes me want to use it as it apparently will last.

I can't find the video that I had in the past but found this link with some bending/pounding pics. That came out wrong as the pics aren't dirty :)
