i have read it is easier to install the powerhead if you remove the lower unit firts, im installing new impeller anyway, problem boat is at marina up on blocks, ground is to close to get lower unit off, cant use the trim because all the wires are disconnected from the whole powerhead, any ideas please would be appreciated

1- dig a deep hole

2- use a battery and supply power directly to the power tilt. :)

thanks rosco, while option 1 sounds easiest to me, i think the marina might not like me using a jackhammer to tear a hole in the concrete, so ill have to try number 2 hahahah

so i can hook up my regular marine battery to the tilt unit, then flip the switch and it will raise, do you know which wire i should use for plus and which for neg... thanks for the help, might sound silly but its a big problem for me....

I would hook up directly to the wires on the tilt motor.

If you have a two wire motor (blue and green), blue to positive and green to ground(negative)will make it go up. Reverse them to lower it.

If you have a 3 wire motor, black is ground, connect blue(up) to positive. To lower it, connect positive to the green wire.
