My boat is fastest when she is bouncing just a little is that normal? Seems like it should slow me down.

Generally speaking they are fastest right at that point. That's one reason that trim tabs can make you "faster". Can allow you to trim where the bow is so high she'd usually porpoise, but the tabs can stop it without trimming in the drive or OB.

Thanks, that makes sense I don't have trim tabs I always wondered
what real purpose they have... now I know.

One of a bunch of uses for trim tabs. Leveling loads side to side, plane at 11 MPH, very quick plane times, easier to control speed at low planing speeds like wakeboarding and tubing speeds. Full down at displacement speeds almost eliminates wander. Etc. etc. etc. ;)
