Porta potty on boat... big need, not so much... need thoughts..

No I got it. I'm just stateside but don't test it at all by leaving the booze safely at the dock...and any chance of any drunken idiots on my boat in the process.

Dunno....I follow my uncles's rules....booze stays on the dock. No exceptions. Don't like it, don't step foot on my boat as I'm not fishing your drunk posterior out of the lake.

When we go out we take lunch with us and then tie up at a pier and have dinner delivered from a local take-out place. There is always beer onboard for my personal use. I don't get drunk. If you can't have a beer or 2 without getting drunk then you should never drink alcohol no matter where you are.

Truly I have seen drunks out on the water, but really not that often. Now, going to a football game is altogether different. Then, half the crown is puking all over themselves.

Back to the OP, the cheapest and easiest is a 5 gallon bucket. Someone mentioned foam pipe wrap around the rim. Great idea. They also sell plastic toilet seats that are made to fit over a 5 gallon bucket. I keep one in my cabin for the winter months. Wife and daughter aren't a big fan of walking outside when it's -30 or -40 degrees. I keep a garbage bag in there and they sit on the seat. My 8yr old daughter loves it. When not in use, the bucket goes outside while the seat stays warm inside. For a boat, just do the same and throw the bag into a dumpster at the end of the day.

Has anyone installed a portable toilet like this on a 26-foot sailboat? I'm curious how well it works in a marine environment and whether it's easy to secure.

So, looking for a boat... first boat. trying to figure out how nice it would be to have a electric potty on board a head I guess its what is called... but we are looking for boats in size range 21-22.

The boat I am considering now is a hurricane 218 ob which does not have one.... just curious as to peoples opinions on how handle not having one.. separate porta potty... bucket... etc.

I've got a porta potty on my 24' pontoon. The boat came with a changing room so was easy to add.
Comes in handy.
If the boat was any shorter however, I don't think I could make one fit.
And looking at your boat I don't see how you could.
