Put in a good DVD and it searches around for a while and finally puts up the message "Invalid disk"<br /><br />I opened the lid and defeated the interlocks and the disk is spinning, the laser is on, the laser is moving, and the laser is focusing.<br /><br />Any suggestions?<br /><br />I have cleaned the lens a couple of times now.<br /><br /><br />Thanks, Ken

Is it correct to assume this is an actual DVD.......I know that some players wont play DVD+R,+RW; ie anything burned.<br /><br />Thats all i can think of.....you said you already cleaned the lens, and that would be suggestion number 1.

Laser alignment could be out ‘a whack. Had it happen to my home player more than once, cost to re-align around $40.00 bucks.

This wouldn't happen to be a Wal-mart special with 2 monitors would it? The one we have does the same thing, just pull the power cord, remove the disk, plug the power cord back in and replace the disk. Sometimes I have to take the disk out several times before it decides to read it.
