I just bought an 11ft RIB, I am looking for a portable FF/DF for back bay (salt water) use. There are a few options out there but the one I'm interested in is made by Humminbird .. Model 110. My only concearn is that the pole for the transducer will put the transdecer too close to the prop, and I won't get a clear reading due to prop wash ..... Has anyone have/used this unit?

get the Humminbird wireless remote. It's battery powered and the transducer is like a fishing bobber. You can tow it along behind you; will work at slow speeds and for that boat you proabbaly don't need it running. Can be used fro bank and pier fishing, also to cast out and reel in to "survey" the bottom. I do a lot of drift fishing for flounder and like mine.
