I did not get a response from my first question about this so I will ask it another way.......my 20 has a Thunderbolt Phase maker ignition. Has the orange module with a orange cover. On a running motor, if you remove the flywheel and the orange cover on the module, will the three screws that the Low/High speed coils hook to be facing exactly towards the front of the motor? This will tell me if I have the stator in the correct position.

Please help me on this and thanks!

I see what was wrong now. The plastic bracket that has two screws that attach to the stator had the linkage rod hole on the left instead of the right as in the picture. Former owner must have taken it loose then put it back together wrong. This WILL put my stator in the right position and under the hold down clamps at all times. That's what really had me worried.
